12/11 Recap: Cornel gets helper; MODO falls in shootout

Eric Cornel picked up an assist Thursday as Peterborough was defeated by Niagara 7-4. The helper, which came while on a five-on-three power play, gives Cornel points in three of his last four games and a total of 26 (8+18) in 27 contests. The last-place Petes will look to end a four-game losing streak on Saturday when they visit Sarnia.

In the SHL, Linus Ullmark stopped 30 of 32 shots but was beaten high glove by former NHLer Mikael Samuelsson for the only goal in the shootout as MODO fell to Djurgarden IF 3-2. The loss drops Ullmark to 7-12 with a 3.36 GAA and .902 save% through 20 starts.

MODO held a 2-0 lead after forty minutes, but it was squandered midway through the third period as DIF struck for a pair of goals in a span of 1:02 to force extra time.
