12/4 Recap: Possler pots pair, Lemieux gets 15th

Gustav Possler recorded his first two-goal game of the year Thursday as MODO dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Farjestads BK. Possler's goals, which included one with 1:50 left in regulation to force overtime, give him eight on the year, tying him with fellow Sabres prospect Victor Olofsson for second-most on the team.

Olofsson sent the shot on goal that was deflected for Possler's first marker to earn one assist on the night. The 19-year-old winger has 15 points (8+7) in 27 games. Goaltender Linus Ullmark was given the night off for MODO, who gets back at it on Saturday versus Orebro HK.

In the OHL, Brendan Lemieux scored his 15th goal of the year as Barrie defeated Mississauga 5-3. As has been the case for the majority of his goals, Lemieux went right to the edge of the crease to finish the play. The goal ties him with Justin Bailey for the prospect lead. The Colts return to action Saturday against Peterborough.

Eric Cornel finished with a minus-two rating as Peterborough was blasted by Oshawa 6-0. Cornel sits with 23 points (8+15) at the 25-game mark. The Petes, who sit in last place in the East Division standings, visit Guelph on Friday.
