12/7 Recap: Lemieux, Dupuy net daily doubles

In Sunday action, Brendan Lemieux collected two goals for the second game in row to help Barrie to a 5-3 win over Ottawa. The fiery winger has produced 19 markers in 24 games this season, including five in his last three to vault into seventh place on the OHL leader board. Among the 19 goals are 10 on the power play, one shorthanded and two game-winners.

Jean Dupuy recorded the first two-goal game of his OHL career as Sault Ste. Marie dropped a 7-6 shootout decision to Sarnia. The overage winger has supplied the first-place Greyhounds with more than just leadership this season, posting eight goals and career-high 23 points in his first 24 games.

Nick Baptiste was blanked for the second straight night as Erie was defeated by Oshawa 4-1. Baptiste has two goals and an assist in six games since joining the Otters, and a total of 14 points (8+6) in 18 OHL contests this season.

In WHL action, Sam Reinhart picked up an assist to extend his point streak to 14 games as Kootenay lost at Tri City 5-4. Tabbed to take a shorthanded draw early in the third period, Reinhart won it back to defenseman Rinat Valiev (TOR) for a secondary helper on a Tim Bozon (MTL) goal. Reinhart has eight goals and 27 points since his return from Buffalo to help the ICE to a 11-3 mark.

In the AHL, Nathan Lieuwen stopped 15 of 17 shots but Rochester failed to provide goal support for the second straight night to take a 3-0 loss at Toronto. The Amerks have seemingly bottomed out, winning just once in their last seven games while scoring one or none in five of those contests. The Amerks will hope to have Joel Armia back in the lineup Wednesday when they play their third of four consecutive road games in Utica. Armia has missed five games with an upper body injury.
