1/25 Recap: Baptiste heating up; Dupuy clutch

In Sunday OHL action, Nick Baptiste cashed a power play goal and two helpers as Erie defeated Owen Sound 7-3. The three-point night, Baptiste's seventh multi-point effort in 20 games with the Otters, gives the speedy winger 16 goals and 34 points this season. He has amassed 10 goals and 23 points since being dealt to Erie.



Jean Dupuy scored the game-tying goal midway through the third period as Sault Ste. Marie earned a 6-5 shootout victory at Guelph. Dupuy's marker, his 11th of the year, elevates his career-high point total to 32 in 38 games. Justin Bailey was unable to connect in the victory. The big winger, who was coming off a four-point night on Friday, remains with 29 goals and 25 assists through 43 games.



Eric Cornel assisted on the power play game-winner with 5:34 left in regulation as Peterborough snapped a four-game skid with a 3-2 victory over Belleville. Cornel has points in three straight games to give him 33 (10+23) through 42 outings.



Brendan Lemieux (-3) was tossed from the game late in the third period as Barrie lost to Niagara 7-4 in a chippy affair. The animosity could carry over when the two clubs get reacquainted Saturday in Barrie. After ripping off 15 goals in an 11-game stretch, Lemieux has scored just twice in his last eight contests.

QMJHL

Vaclav Karbacek (+1) connected for his 13th goal of the year as Baie-Comeau doubled Rouyn-Noranda 6-3. The Czech winger has two goals and two helpers in eight games with the Drakkar, elevating him to a season total of 29 points in 39 games.

WHL

Sam Reinhart registered a pair of assists to extend his point streak to eight games as Kootenay downed Prince George 7-3. Reinhart has collected two goals and 12 points in nine games since returning from the World Junior Championship. He has 10 goals and 39 points in 24 games since returning from Buffalo.

Brycen Martin pocketed one assist as Saskatoon extended their winning streak to five with a 3-0 shutout of Prince Albert. Martin had 16 points in 39 games with Swift Current prior to being traded. He has five points (1+4) in six games with the Blades.

USHL

Christopher Brown logged three shots on goal as Green Bay was thrashed by Sioux City 6-2, Brown remains the Gamblers' leader with 12 goals, but he has yet to score in eight games of 2015. The Gamblers have lost all eight of those contests.

SWEDEN

Jonas Johansson allowed two goals in the first five minutes, but finished with 34 saves for the third straight game and stopped all three shootout attempts as Brynas IF J20 edged Frolunda HC J20 5-4. Johansson has gone 3-1 with a 3.12 GAA and .912 save% in four starts since returning from a month-long injury.

Victor Olofsson produced three shots on goal as MODO J20 was blanked by Farjestads BK J20 3-0. The 19-year-old scored a goal and an assist in two weekend games with the junior squad.
