1/28 Recap: Reinhart extends streak, Lemieux pots 32nd

Sam Reinhart scored a goal and recorded a pair of roughing minors as Kootenay was doubled at Lethbridge 6-3. Late in the first period, Reinhart took a chipped puck down the right side and snapped a shot far side for his 11th goal of the year to give the ICE a 2-1 lead. Reinhart has points in nine straight games for the ICE, who remain in fourth place in the WHL’s Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Brycen Martin scored his fourth goal of the season as Saskatoon saw their five-game winning streak end in a 6-1 loss to Prince Albert. The defenseman has six points (2+4) in his first seven games with the Blades.

Brendan Lemieux scored his 32nd goal Wednesday as Barrie defeated Sudbury 6-2. Lemieux’s goal, which came with a man advantage, gives him a league-high 19 while on the power play. The Colts have win six of their last 10 contests to remain second in the OHL’s Eastern Conference.

Linus Ullmark made 25 saves as MODO was toppled by Frolunda HC 4-3.  Ullmark returned to work after missing Saturday’s game after re-aggravating a recent groin injury. He allowed two goals within the first 5:34 of the game as MODO fell into an early hole. Gustav Possler did not play for MODO due to illness. MODO remains buried in last place in the SHL, nine points behind 11th place Brynas IF.
