1/3 Recap: Bailey keeps pace; Lemieux tips another

Justin Bailey scored twice and added an assist Saturday to earn the game's second star as Kitchener dropped a 6-5 shootout decision at Niagara. Bailey, who was unable to convert in the shootout, ups his team-leading totals to 22 goals and 41 points through 35 games.



Brendan Lemieux scored his 29th goal of the year on the power play as Barrie blew out London 10-3. Lemieux has piled up 15 goals in 11 games since December 1. His 16 power play goals are tops in the OHL.



Eric Cornel snapped a 10-game goal drought with his ninth of the year as Peterborough smoked Belleville 6-2. Cornel has 29 points in 35 games, including a team-high 20 helpers.



Jean Dupuy earned one assist as Sault Ste. Marie defeated Ottawa 7-3. The 20-year-old forward has points in two straight games for the West Division leaders.

Nick Baptiste saw his six-game point streak snapped as Erie was bested by Windsor 6-3. The speedy winger has 26 points (12+14) in 25 games this season.


QMJHL

Vaclav Karabacek made his Baie-Comeau debut, logging three shots on the goals as the Drakkar edged Rimouski 2-1. Karabacek, who was traded on Friday as part of a package that sent Valentin Zykov (LAK) to Gatineau, has 25 points (11+14) in 32 games.


NCAA

Anthony Florentino scored his first goal of the year as Providence edged Colorado College 5-4 in overtime. Friars defenseman Mark Adams did not dress for the third game in a row.

Hudson Fasching returned from his World Junior Championship experience, assisting on the overtime winner as Minnesota got past RIT 3-2 in overtime. Christian Isackson notched an assist for the Gophers for his second point of the season.

Brad Navin finished with a plus-one rating as Wisconsin upset Michigan Tech 2-0.

Judd Peterson logged one shot on goal as St. Cloud State fell to Quinnipiac 4-1.

Freshman winger Max Willman resumed his post as a fill-in defender as Brown lost to Denver 5-3 at the Ledyard Bank Classic.


USHL

Christopher Brown (-3) was unable to get a point as Green Bay was defeated by Team USA 4-3 in overtime. At the 30-game mark, the rookie forward has a team high 13 goals and 25 points.


SHL

Gustav Possler scored his ninth goal of the year as MODO was doubled by Skelleftea AIK 6-3. Linus Ullmark came on in relief late in the second period, making four saves in 23 minutes of work to close out the loss.



AHL

Former Ferris State standout Pat Nagle made 39 saves in his Rochester debut as the Amerks were blanked 4-0 at Adirondack.. Mark Pysyk and Dan Catenacci were among four Amerks skaters to log an even rating, while Joel Armia remained out of the lineup with a lower body injury.

ECHL

Colin Jacobs was unable to connect as Elmira defeated Gwinnett 2-1.
