2/12 Recap: Ullmark sharp; Karabacek collects

Linus Ullmark logged another excellent start Thursday, stopping 35 shots as over-matched MODO fell to the Vaxjo Lakers HC 3-2 in a nine-round shootout. The 21-year-old goaltender was put on the spot to stop several point blank chances throughout. He stopped another seven attempts in shootout before former NHLer Jeff Tambellini iced it for Vaxjo.



Ullmark slips to 10-16 on the year with a 2.99 GAA and a .912 save%. Gustav Possler was blanked while receiving 12:40 of work  but remains MODO's second-leading point-getter with 20 (9+11) through 40 games.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek struck for a goal and two assists as Baie-Comeau lost to Moncton 6-5 in a shootout. The season-high three point night gives him seven multiple point efforts this season. It was his first game with two or more points since December 5.

Eric Cornel was held off the score sheet for the second consecutive game as Peterborough was bested by Oshawa 5-2. Through 50 contests, Cornel has racked up 13 goals and 41 points.

Victor Olofsson (-1) contributed two shots on goal as Timra IK downed the Malmo RedHawks 5-3. Olofsson has one goal in two appearances with the Allsvenskan club
