2/21 Recap: Petersen stops 44; Baptiste produces

Cal Petersen made a career-high 44 saves as Notre Dame held on for a 3-2 victory at Boston University. Petersen had a busy opening frame, stopping all 17 shots sent his way as the Irish entered the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. He was even better in the third when he stopped 18 of 19 to improve to 9-12-3 with a 2.46 GAA and .918 save%. Fellow freshman Connor Hurley fired a team-best four shots on goal in the victory.

Hudson Fasching (+1, 3 SOG) notched one assist as No. 15 Minnesota dropped a 4-3 overtime decision at Penn State. Fasching's helper came with 39.6 seconds left in regulation when he found Sam Warning down low at the side of the net for the game-tying tally. Christian Isackson finished with a minus-one rating in a limited fourth-line role in his 100th NCAA game.

Sean Malone (-1) was limited to one shot on goal as Harvard held on for a 3-2 win at Clarkson. The speedy centerman has consistently jammed the net, but has now gone three straight games without a point.

Anthony Florentino (-1) and Mark Adams (+1) each produced one shot on goal as Providence was beaten by UMass 2-1 in overtime. Recently bumped to the third pair, Florentino is second among Friars defenders with a plus-11 rating this season.

Max Willman did not factor as Brown and Quinnipiac played to a 2-2 tie. The second-line winger has three points (1+2) in his first 26 collegiate contests.

Jason Kasdorf stopped 25 of 29 shots as RPI was doubled by Colgate 4-2. In 27 starts this season, Kasdorf has posted a 9-15-1 record with 3.01 GAA and .898 save%..

Brad Navin (-1) sent one shot on goal as Wisconsin was blanked by Michigan State 3-0. The senior winger has five points (1+4) this season, including one in his last 13 outings.

Freshman winger Judd Peterson did not play as St. Cloud State pitched a 2-0 shutout of Nebraska-Omaha.

OHL

Nick Baptiste scored a power play goal and added two assists as Erie buried Peterborough 8-2. The three-point effort boosts Baptiste to a balanced 23 goals and 23 assists through 42 contests. Peterborough's Eric Cornel capped a strong second-period shift with an assist from his knees on the first Petes marker. Draft stud Connor McDavid posted a five-point night with two goals and three assists to lead the Otters attack

Linemates Justin Bailey (-1) and Jean Dupuy were each kept off the score sheet as Sault Ste. Marie downed Kitchener 6-3. The Greyhounds have won seven straight and 18 of 20 since trading for Bailey.

WHL

Sam Reinhart collected a pair of assists as Kootenay blanked Spokane 5-0. The ICE captain has contributed 49 points (15+34) in 35 games.

Brycen Martin set a new career high with his seventh goal of the year as Saskatoon was thumped by Brandon 7-3. The top-pair defender has posted 21 points (5+16) in 19 games since his trade to the Blades.

QMJHL

Vaclav Karabacek provided one shot on goal as Baie-Comeau blanked Sherbrooke 4-0. The Czech winger has ramped up his effort with seven points in his last eight games.

USHL

Christopher Brown was blanked as Green Bay was throttled by Youngstown 5-1. Brown remains the Gamblers' leader with 13 goals and 30 points in 42 games. Phantoms forward Kyle Connor ('15) scored his 20th goal of the year to extend his point streak to seven games.

SHL

Linus Ullmark made 15 saves as MODO was defeated by Lulea HF 4-2. Gustav Possler returned to the MODO lineup following a two-game absence, finishing with one shot on goal and a minus-one rating.

ECHL

Kevin Sundher logged two shots on goal in Elmira's 5-2 loss at Indy. Colin Jacobs did not dress for the Jackals.
