2/6 Recap: Tip drill for Lemieux

Brendan Lemieux capped a two-goal Friday by scoring the game-winner with 4:03 to play as Barrie held on for a 5-4 victory Mississauga. The markers both came while on the power play, upping Lemieux's league-leading total to 22 with the man advantage. Lemieux has 35 goals in 45 games this season with 18 dates remaining on the regular season schedule.



Nick Baptiste scored his club's only goal, his 19th of the year, as Erie dropped a 6-1 home-ice decision to Sault Ste. Marie. Baptiste now has points in six straight games. Justin Bailey was kept off the score sheet for the Hounds, while Jean Dupuy remained out of the lineup with an injury.

Eric Cornel (-1) earned a checking to the head minor penalty as Peterborough defeated Ottawa 5-2. Cornel, who entered the game with points in seven of his last eight, has 39 points (12+27) in 47 games.

WHL

Brycen Martin notched a pair of assists as Saskatoon lost to Regina 5-2. Martin now has points in five straight games and a total of 12 (3+9) in 10 games since joining the Blades.

Sam Reinhart (-2) recorded one assist as Kootenay was outgunned by Brandon 5-2. Reinhart has points in 11 of 13 games since returning from the World Junior Championship.

QMJHL

Vaclav Karabacek scored his 14th goal of the year as Baie-Comeau defeated Drummondville 3-1. Karabacek has collected 31 points this season, including three goals and three assists in 13 games with the Drakkar.

NCAA

Cal Petersen started as the backup goaltender but came out for the third period, stopping all 10 shots sent his way in regulation and overtime as Notre Dame played to a 4-4 tie at Maine. Connor Hurley was unable to make a dent on the score sheet.

Christian Isackson produced one assist and Hudson Fasching provided four shots on goal as Minnesota doubled Ohio State 4-2. With the assist, Isackson has points in two straight games for the first time since March of 2013.

Sean Malone (-1, 2 SOG) was blanked in Harvard's 3-0 loss to Yale. It was the first time in five season appearances that Malone failed to record a point.

Max Willman produced two shots on goal as Brown was doubled by Dartmouth 6-3. Willman has now gone 17 games without a collecting a point.

Brad Navin finished with a minus-one rating as Wisconsin fell to Penn State 5-2. Through 23 games, Navin has five points (1+4) and a minus-14 rating.

USHL

Christopher Brown snapped a nine-game goal drought with his 13th of the year as Green Bay triumphed over Omaha 5-4. Brown remains the Gamblers leading scorer with 13 goals and 29 points in 37 games.

AHL

Johan Larsson scored a pair of goals including one with 1:58 left in regulation to force overtime as Rochester dropped a 5-4 overtime decision at Grand Rapids. Jerry D'Amigo and Brodie Reid also scored for the Amerks, while Jake McCabe extended his point streak to five games with a pair of assists. Andrey Makarov stopped 26 of 31 shots in defeat.


ECHL

Justin Kea scored his fifth goal of the year and picked up a fighting major as Elmira downed Cincinnati 4-1. Kea's goal gives him 12 points in 32 ECHL contests. Colin Jacobs did not factor for the Jackals.
