2/8 Recap: Martin streak hits seven

Brycen Martin extended his point streak to seven games Sunday with an assist in Saskatoon's 5-2 loss to Calgary. Martin has been excellent since the trade to Saskatoon, amassing 15 points (3+12) in his first dozen games with the Blades. The uptick has elevates his season take to 31 points in 51 games.

QMJHL

Vaclav Karbacek notched one assist as Baie-Comeau came up short in a 6-5 loss to Chicoutimi. Karabacek has points in back-to-back games for the second time since joining the Drakkar, and a season total of 32 (14+18) in 45 games.

OHL

Justin Bailey was kept off the score sheet as Sault Ste. Marie was defeated 5-1 at Kitchener. The contest was Bailey's first appearance back in Kitchener since being traded to the Hounds a month ago. Bailey has 30 goals and 29 assists in 48 games between Kitchener and Soo.

AHL

Jake McCabe scored with 2:14 left in regulation to force overtime but the Amerks were unable to get the extra point in a 6-5 loss at Milwaukee. McCabe's goal, his fourth of the year, gives him points in six consecutive games.

Zac Dalpe paced the Amerks attack with a goal ad two assists. Johan Larsson and Phil Varone each had one goal and an one assist, while Mark Pysyk added a single marker at 4:40 of the opening frame to give Rochester an early 1-0 lead. Andrey Makarov allowed four goals on 19 shots in 34 minutes of action before giving way to Matt Hackett. who stopped 10 of 12 the rest of the way.
