3/5 Recap: Cornel comes through

Eric Cornel notched a goal and two assists Thursday to earn the game's second star as Peterborough surprised London 4-1. Cornel's marker, his 14th of the year, put a halt to his 11-game goal drought. He had just one goal in his previous 15 games. Draft eligible winger Mitchell Marner saw his eight-game point streak snapped in the Knights' loss.

Jean Dupuy was blanked as Sault Ste. Marie got past Windsor 6-4. Dupuy has collected career highs of 15 goals and 41 points this season.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek (-3) recorded two shots on goal as Baie-Comeau was hammered by Rouyn-Noranda 9-1. Karabacek has 16 goals this season, but has scored just once in his last seven games.

In Sweden, Linus Ullmark made 26 saves as MODO closed the regular season schedule with a 2-1 loss to Brynas IF. Gustav Possler (14:30) and Victor Olofsson (8:52) were each kept off the score sheet in the loss for MODO, who will return to work on March 16 when they host game one of a best of seven SHL qualifying series.

In USHL action, Christopher Brown (-1) logged one shot on goal as Tri-City was defeated by Fargo 4-3.  Brown has two assists in three games since being dealt to the Storm.
