4/4 Recap: Karabacek scores; Reinhart caps victory

Vaclav Karabacek scored a power-play goal Saturday as Baie-Comeau advanced to the second round of the QMJHL playoffs with a 7-4 win at Saint John. The team's co-leading point-getter in the series, Karabacek is tied for third overall in league playoff scoring with eight points (2+6) through five games. The Drakkar may need to wait until the close of play on Tuesday to learn who their next opponent will be.

In the WHL, Sam Reinhart potted an empty-net goal to cap Kootenay's 4-2 victory over Calgary in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal. Reinhart has captured five goals and eight points thus far in the series while contributing on the scoresheet in five of the six games. The deciding Game 7 will take place Monday night at the Saddledome.

In AHL play, Dan Catenacci scored a goal and an assist as Rochester was bounced by Rockford 7-2. Catenacci's multi-point effort boosts his career-high totals to 14 goals and 27 points in 62 games. Veteran forward Evan Rankin also added a goal and a helper, while Anthony Peters stopped 31 of 38 shots in the loss.

In the USHL, Christopher Brown posted one shot on goal as Tri-City downed Cedar Rapids 4-1. Brown extended his goalless streak to 19 games.
