10/14 Recap: Guhle gets going

Brendan Guhle has got it going on early in his return to the Western Hockey League.

Guhle shuttled west after his release from Sabres camp and appeared to have scored a goal in Prince Albert's 4-0 win at Portland on Tuesday. That goal was later changed to an assist the next day, but per his coaching staff, Guhle clearly made an impact all over the ice in his return from his first NHL training camp.

Guhle got right back at it on Wednesday, notching three more helpers as the Raiders got past Tri-City 5-3. All three of Guhle's points have come at even strength. Prince Albert continues their road trip Friday at Spokane.

Elsewhere in the WHL, Giorgio Estephan added two more assists to his stat line as Lethbridge outlasted Regina 6-4. Estephan has 11 points (2+9) through seven contests. The Hurricanes are off until their visit to Swift Current on Saturday.

Devante Stephens logged an even rating as Kelowna edged Red Deer 5-4. Stephens notched an assist in on opening night, but has gone without a point in his last eight games. Kelowna visites Prince George on Friday.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek potted an empty-net goal to close out Baie-Comeau's 3-1 win over Sherbrooke, Karabacek's fourth goal of the year cemented the Drakkar's first consecutive wins of the season. Baie-Comeau goes for three in a row Saturday versus Charlottetown.
