12/19 Recap: Guhle, Estephan get winners

Brendan Guhle snapped a four-game drought Saturday with his fourth goal of the year as Prince Albert earned a 5-2 win over Brandon. With under five minutes left to play in the opening frame, Guhle crept in from his left defensive post and knocked in a rebound with his backhand for the eventual game-winner. Guhle has collected 12 points in 27 games since re-joining the Raiders from Buffalo.

Giorgio Estephan knocked in the game-winning goal and added an assist to earn the game's second star as Lethbridge entered the break with a dominating 6-1 victory over Red Deer. Late in the first period, Estephan broke in alone from the neutral zone down the left side and slid a forehand underneath the Rebels netminder to make it a 2-1 game. Estephan has 39 points (14+25) in 35 contests.

Brycen Martin picked up one assist as Everett dropped a 2-1 decision to Vancouver. The helper gives Martin 28 points (3+25) through 34 contests split between Saskatoon and Everett.

Devante Stephens logged a plus-three rating as Kelowna was defeated by Saskatoon 5-3. Through 35 games, Stephens has two goals, six points and a plus-13 rating.

In the AHL, Nicholas Baptiste was among the goal scorers off a nice assist from William Carrier as Rochester skated to a 4-1 victory over Albany. Tim Schaller scored a goal and recorded a fighting major to earn the game's first star, while Patrick Kaleta and Colby Robak provided the other Rochester markers. Andrey Makarov was solid for the second straight night, stopping 30 of 31 shots to get the win. Carrier finished with a pair of assists to earn second-star honors.
