Karabacek dealt to Moncton

Vaclav Karabacek was traded to a QMJHL contender for the second time in as many seasons Saturday. The right-winger, currently recovering from a broken thumb that knocked him out of the World Junior Championship, has been dealt along with Baie-Comeau's 2016 second-round pick to the Moncton Wildcats in exchange for a 2016 first-round pick.

Karabacek had been grinding through a difficult season for last-place Baie-Comeau, posting 16 points (8+8) and 93 shots on goal in 23 contests prior to the trade. Those numbers are expected to increase dramatically with a loaded Wildcats squad that has scored a league-high 165 goals this season -- nearly 100 more than tan 67 posted by the lowly Drakkar.

It's safe to say that a trade to one of the league's front-runners should prove inspiring for a young winger trying to earn his first professional contract.
