1/30 Recap: Guhle gets winner; Bailey trending up

Brendan Guhle crept between the hash marks and connected with a wrist shot for his seventh goal of the year Saturday as Prince Albert held on for a 5-3 win at Medicine Hat. The power play goal, which came 1:00 into the final frame, was Guhle's second game-winning gal of the year. The 18-year-old defender has collected 19 points in 42 games.

In the AHL, Justin Bailey scored his seventh goal of the year as Rochester entered the All Star break with a 4-2 loss to Utica. The goal gives Bailey six points in his last six games. Matt Prapavessis also scored for the Amerks, while Linus Ullmark finished the night with 28 saves.

Judd Peterson (-1) and Will Borgen were each held without a point as St. Cloud State advanced to the title game at the North Star College Cup with a 5-4 win over Minnesota State. Peterson has gone seven games without registering a point, while Borgen has been quiet in five games back from his appearance with Team USA at the 2016 World Junior Championship.

In the North Star College Cup nightcap, Hudson Fasching produced five shots on goal but was unable to score as Minnesota was doubled by Bemidji State 4-2. The Gophers will face Minnesota State in Sunday's third place game.

Jason Kasdorf made 30 saves as RPI was shut out by Yale 3-0. The loss snaps Kasdorf's six-game unbeaten streak, leaving him with a 8-6-4 record, 2.11 GAA and .935 save% entering February.

Anthony Florentino (+1) logged four shots on goal as Providence was beaten by New Hampshire 3-1. Through 22 games, Florentino has five goals, nine points and a plus-10 rating.

Ivan Chukarov scored for the second straight game as Massachusetts was defeated by Maine 5-4. Chukarov buried a shot with the extra attacker as the Minutemen looked to mount a comeback in the final minute of play.

Max Willman amassed four shots on goal as Brown played to a 2-2 tie with Union. The sophomore winger has collected one assist in his last 11 games.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek was held without a point for the fifth straight game as Moncton was defeated by Halifax 4-1. Karabacek posted a goal and an assist in his first game with the Wildcats two weeks ago, but has failed to add to his haul since then to enter February with 18 points (9+9) through 29 games.

In the late games, Giorgio Estephan went without a point for the second straight night as Lethbridge was defeated by Vancouver 4-2.

Devante Stephens finished minus-one with a holding minor as Kelowna was beaten by Victoria 4-1.

Brycen Martin logged an even rating as Everett edged Seattle 2-1.
