2/12 Recap: Petersen, Kasdorf stay sharp

Cal Petersen stopped 21 of 22 shots and Connor Hurley notched an assist as No. 8 Notre Dame downed Maine 4-1. Petersen has won eight of his last nine starts, while losing just once in his last 16 games. The hot streak has vaulted Petersen to a 17-5-7 record with a 2.09 GAA and .930 save%.  Hurley's helper gives him points in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Jason Kasdorf made a career-high 49 saves as No. 18 RPI held on for a 2-1 victory over No. 9 Harvard. The Crimson attack came out firing from the onset and never really let up, but Kasdorf was focused in allowing just one goal between his legs. The victory puts Kasdorf at 9-8-4 with a 2.10 GAA and a .937 save%, which ranks fifth in the country. Harvard forward Sean Malone accounted for five of the Crimson's 50 shots in defeat.

Max Willman scored his second goal of the year and first since November 13 as Brown played to a 3-3 tie at No. 15 Cornell. The marker gives Willman points in three straight games for the second time this season.

Hudson Fasching notched one assist as Minnesota got past Ohio State 5-4 in overtime. The helper gives Fasching 30 points (16+14) through 28 games, equaling his previous career high set in 40 games as a freshman.

Chris Brown was unable to register as No. 3 Boston College doubled Merrimack 6-3. The third-line forward has produced nine points (2+7) and a plus-seven rating in 29 games.

Anthony Florentino produced four shots on goal and a plus-two rating as No. 5 Providence blanked Connecticut 4-0. At the 25-game mark, the junior defender has 10 points (5+5) and a plus-13 rating.

Ivan Chukarov finished with a minus-two rating and one shot on goal as Massachusetts was smoked by Northeastern 5-0. The freshman defender has seven points (2+5) and a minus-18 rating in 30 games.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek scored his 11th goal of the year as Moncton lost to Rimouski 4-2. Karabacek has goals in two straight games for the first time since October 10 and 14.

In the WHL, Brendan Guhle recorded one shot on goal in Prince Albert's 3-2 win over Regina.

Devante Stephens defeated Prince George 4-3. The stay-at-homer has eight points (2+6) and a plus-six ratng through 56 games.

After scoring a goal Monday to snap a 16-game point drought, Brycen Martin recorded one assist as Everett was edged by Portland 3-2

In the AHL, Linus Ullmark made 27 saves to earn the game's second star as Rochester dropped at 1-0 decision to Albany. Chad Ruhwedel provided a team-high four shors on goal for the Amerks in his first game since January 2.
