10/10 Recap: Cat pounces; Jacobs, Nelson extend streaks

Daniel Catenacci scored his fourth goal of the year as Owen Sound earned a 4-2 win over Plymouth. Effective at the faceoff circle throughout, Catenacci pounced for a power play goal a little over five minutes in to give the Attack a 1-0 lead.

Brady Austin was even as Belleville defeated Brampton 2-1 in a shootout. The two clubs will play a rematch Friday in Brampton.

In the WHL, Colin Jacobs scored his seventh goal of the year off a nice breakaway deke as Prince George edged Kootenay 5-4. The 6-foot-2 center now has seven goals and 13 points through the Cougars' first seven games to place second in WHL scoring.

Logan Nelson assisted on both Victoria goals as the Royals fell to Kamloops 5-2. Nelson has points in five straight games to up his total to 11 (3+8) on the year.

Andrey Makarov made 27 saves as Saskatoon lost to Portland 4-0. Goal support continues to be an issue for the Blades, who have been outscored 23-5 over their last four games - all losses.
