Cepis a Terrier?

Following up on a story from a little over a week ago, whispers suggest that former Bowling Green forward Jake Cepis is likely headed to Boston University. We haven't seen any media confirmation, but whispers are that he's committing there instead of WCHA programs Minnesota and Wisconsin. Cepis was invited to the Sabres summer development camp after a 31-point freshman campaign landed him on the CCHA All-Rookie Team with teammate and Sabres goalie prospect Nick Eno. He was limited to a goal and four assists in 18 games before departing.

Dev camp invitee Cepis quits Falcons

Jacob Cepis, a participant in the Sabres summer conditioning camp, has decided to leave the Bowling Green hockey team for unspecified reasons. Entering the CCHA last season in the same class as Nick Eno, the talented sophomore is expected to re-emerge on the hockey radar sooner rather than later, as this does not appear to be a bizarre situation comparable to Stefan Legien's retirement from the OHL. As suggested, an out-of-conference transfer may be in the air.
Cepis has played left wing most of his career at BG, but was moved to center last Saturday against Notre Dame. “It’s one of those things that if you’re not happy, the game isn’t fun for you,” Cepis said. “At a certain point, you have to say it wasn’t the right fit. That’s the bottom line.” The Falcons are 5-10-3 overall and 4-7-1-0 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association entering this weekend’s series against Clarkson (2-8-4). Faceoff is 7:05 Friday night and 5:05 Saturday night. “It’s a bummer,” BG sophomore goalie Nick Eno said. “He’s a big part of our team. But we have to move on and, hopefully, it’ll the bring the guys a little bit tighter. The guys are going to be down a little bit, but it’ll help us out in the end. Guys will be stepping up more to fill his shoes.”
More to come on this.

Eno named to All-Rookie Team

Congrats go out to Bowling Green netminder Nick Eno, who today was named to the 2007-08 CCHA All-Rookie Team. Eno was 11-8 in the regular season, and 1-1 in his first two playoff contests with Western Michigan before giving way to Jimmy Spratt in game three. The 6'3, 190-pound Eno carries a 2.73 GAA and .908 save percentage into this weekend's match-up with Miami. The 2007 seventh-rounder is joined on the All-Rookie team by forwards Carter Camper (Miami), Max Pacioretty (Michigan), Jacob Cepis (Bowling Green), and Mark Olver (Northern Michigan); and defensemen Jeff Petry (Michigan State) and Erik Gustafsson (Northern Michigan).
