1/12 Recap: Pysyk contributes; Colts duo out

Mark Pysyk drew the lone assist on the game winning goal Thursday as Edmonton as defeated Medicine Hat, 6-2. The steady leader, who was one of two Canadian skaters who went without a point at the World Junior Championship, has a goal and an assist in three games back with the Oil Kings. Edmonton will host Kootenay on Saturday.

In the OHL, Steven Shipley played even as Niagara edged Barrie, 2-1. The 6’3 center has gone without a point in just two of his last 11 games. Colts defenseman Alex Lepkowski did not play due to a lower body injury, while Gregg Sutch missed his sixth straight game with a head injury. The IceDogs travel to sudbury on Friday before playing a rematch with Barrie on Saturday.
