Armia keeps firing; ignites crowd

Someone is looking rather confident after his World Junior Championship experience, wouldn't you say?

Joel Armia notched his 10th goal of the year Saturday to help steer Assat to a 5-3 win over Lukko. In a case of Sabres future meeting Sabres past, the 6'3 wing beat Mika Noronen on the power play to get the Aces on the board at 2:05 of the opening period. A week-and-a-half removed from his World Junior stick-ride, Armia celebrated the goal by motioning to the Lukko faithful.

Armia has picked up right where he left off before the U20s, scoring goals in two straight games since his return while working his way into more ice time. He now has eight goals and 13 points in his last 14 games, and a line of 10-10-20 in 33 appearances this season.

Like it or hate it, the 18-year old is showing plenty of moxie as he elevates his play.

And yes, Noronen was chased in the second period.
