2/14 Recap: Armia strikes twice as Aces stay hot

Joel Armia scored a pair of goals Thursday including the game winner as Assat defeated Karpat 3-1. The 6-foot-3 winger ups his season line to 15-7-22 through 38 appearances for the the Aces, who have now won sixth straight games with 10 dates left on the schedule. Assat currently sits in the ninth of 10 SM-liiga playoff positions.

For Armia, the final stretch is an opportunity to end his year with a productive push. In 2010-11, he averaged .60 points-per-game (18-11-29). In 2011-12, he grew his game into a .70 points-per-game player (18-20-38). Armia enters mid-February clicking it a .58 points-per-game pace.



In the SEL, Linus Ullmark served as backup as MODO dropped a 3-1 decision to AIK. MODO is back at it Saturday when they host HV71.
