Flynn to debut vs Devils

Rookie forward Brian Flynn has been recalled from the Rochester Americans and will suit up on Saturday when the Sabres drop the puck versus the defending Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Devils.

From the Sabres:

"Flynn (7/26/88, 6'1",180 lbs) joins the Sabres on his first career recall after signing with the Sabres on March 29, 2012. In 45 games for the Americans this season, the Lynnfield, Mass. native has recorded 32 points (16+16), tying to lead all Rochester skaters in goals and ranking 10th among all AHL rookies in both goals and points."

Prior to turning pro at the end of the 2011-12 season, Flynn completed a four-year collegiate career at the University of Maine. During his senior season, Flynn appeared in 40 games and recorded 48 points (18+30), along with 37 penalty minutes and a team-leading plus-18 rating, while serving as captain. His 48 points ranked second on the team and ninth among all NCAA Division I skaters, earning him Hockey East First Team honors.

Flynn, who recorded an assist in his AHL debut last spring, was a healthy scratch in the Amerks' first game of 2012-13 before working his way into the regular rotation.
