In Sunday play, Nick Baptiste scored with three seconds left
in regulation to force extra time, but Sudbury was defeated by Mississauga 5-4 for
their second-straight overtime loss. The last second lamplighter comes on the
heels of Baptiste’s Saturday night heroics that saw him force overtime with
five ticks left on the clock. The three-goal weekend gives Baptiste five points
(4+1) through his first four games heading into Friday’s tilt versus
Peterborough.
Justin Bailey finished with a minus-two rating as Kitchener
got past Oshawa 5-3. Dallas prospect Radek Faksa notched a hat trick to guide
the Rangers to the victory. Next up for Kitchener is a Friday night meeting
with Sarnia.
