Draft favorites shine

Draft trackers rejoice, as 2014 talents Aaron Ekblad and Sam Reinhart returned to junior in dominating fashion last week after skating for Canada at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Ekblad smacked in four goals plus an assist Saturday in his second game back from the tourney as Barrie bested Kingston 8-5. The monster game gives the big defender 14 goals, including 10 with the man advantage, and 31 total points through 31 games.

Sam Reinhart returned with a first-star performance of his own, collecting two goals and a helper Sunday to guide Kootenay to a 5-4 win over Edmonton. The three-point night gives the 18-year old 53 points (18+35) in 34 games - including six power play goals, two short-handed goals, and three game winners - all the while logging a plus-seven rating and just one minor penalty.
