3/25 Recap: Baptiste gets going; Zadorov scores dandy

In Tuesday action, Nick Baptiste scored his first goal of the playoffs and added two assists as Sudbury lost to Barrie 6-4. The points, which started with a goal from high above the circles just 3:40 into the opening frame, were Baptiste's first after two empty efforts to start the series. The Wolves now face a 3-0 deficit in the best-of-seven first round series. They'll look to avoid the sweep when the teams get back together Thursday in Sudbury.

Nikita Zadorov scored a short-handed goal as London blew past Windsor 10-2 to take a commanding three-game lead in the first round series. The goal gives Zadorov five points (3+2) through the first three playoff games. Brady Austin finished with a plus-three rating for the dominant Knights, who can close out the series with a win when game 4 is played Thursday in Windsor.

In the QMJHL, Mikhail Grigorenko produced two assists as Quebec was defeated by Rouyn-Noranda 5-2. Grigorenko has six points (0+6) for the Remparts, who now face a 2-1 series deficit heading into Wednesday's game 4.

William Carrier sat out with a lower body injury as Drummondville doubled Victoriaville 6-3. Carrier was rumored to be questionable hours before faceoff, and so the apparent lower body issue will likely leave him day-to-day. The victory gives the Voltigeurs a 2-1 lead in the first round tilt with game 4 set for Wednesday in Victoriaville.

In regular season action, Andrey Makarov made 33 saves to earn the game's number two star as Rochester continued their late season slide with a 3-1 loss at Toronto. The start was Makarov's first ever in the AHL. Kevin Porter scored the lone Amerks goal, with Johan Larsson drawing the only assist. The Amerks will look to snap a seven-game losing streak Wednesday versus Milwaukee.
