SWE: Possler scores as MODO falls short

Gustav Possler scored his fourth goal of the year Saturday as MODO was defeated by Leksands IF 5-4. Possler, who missed MODO's previous two games with an upper body injury, scooped up a rebound early in the third period to cut the deficit to 4-3. The marker gives him nine points in 18 appearances this season.


MODO would even the score a few minutes later before Linus Hultstrom beat Linus Ullmark from the right faceoff circle with 35 seconds left in regulation to thrust LIF to the victory. Ullmark finished with 33 saves on 38 shots to move to 5-7 on the year with a 3.83 GAA and .880 save%.

MODO winger Victor Olofsson produced two shots and a plus-one rating in 14:17 of work. The 19-year old rookie has six goals and 12 points at the 20-game mark.

MODO is back in action Tuesday versus Vaxjo.

Elsewhere in the SHL, Jonas Johansson served as the backup to Bernhard Starkbaum as Brynas blanked Frolunda 3-0. Next up for Brynas is a Tuesday tilt with Lulea HF.
