2/27 Recap: Dupuy steps up; Malone keeps firing

Jean Dupuy scored a goal and two assists as Sault Ste. Marie earned a 5-3 win over Windsor. Dupuy's three-point night, his second such effort of the season, boosts his season totals to 14 goals and 40 points through 46 games.

Justin Bailey missed the first of what will be a handful of games with an ankle fracture. The scoring winger is expected to be out two-three weeks after blocking a shot last week, The Hounds also played without Nick Ritchie (ANA), who is out with a concussion.

Nicholas Baptiste picked up one assist to extend his point streak to five games as Erie was defeated at Owen Sound 5-4. Baptiste entered the night with goals in four straight but was unable to light the lamp for the Otters.

In the WHL, Sam Reinhart scored a one-timer goal as Kootenay earned a 3-2 shootout victory over Brandon. The ICE captain, who now has points in seven straight and 33 of 38 contests, missed blocker side with his shootout attempt to remain goalless in four tries this season.

Brycen Martin (-1) went without a point for the fourth straight game as Saskatoon was defeated by Moose Jaw 3-1. Martin has 37 points (7+30) this season, including 21 in 22 games since being dealt to the Blades.

Vaclav Karabacek sent two shots on goal as Baie-Comeau got past Halifax 4-2. Karabacek has one goal and one assist in his last five contests.

In the college ranks, Sean Malone connected for one goal and one assist as Harvard was outgunned by Quinnipiac 5-2. Malone, who also produced a team-high four shots on goal in the loss,has amassed six goals and six assists in 12 appearances with the Crimson.

J.T. Compher snapped a nine-game goal drought with an empty-netter as Michigan blanked Wisconsin 3-0. Compher, who also supplied six shots on goal, has 15 points for the year, including two goals and two assists in 12 games since returning from the World Junior Championship. Senior winger Brad Navin recorded one shot on goal for the losing side.

Hudson Fasching recorded two assists and team-best five shots on goal as Minnesota was doubled by Michigan State 4-2. The helpers give Fasching points in six of his last seven games. Christian Isackson logged one shot on goal in fourth-line minutes for the Gophers.

Anthony Florentino produced one shot on goal as Providence downed Maine 5-2. Florentino has 11 points this season (2+9), but has failed to register in his last seven games. Senior defender Mark Adams contributed two shots on net from the Friars' bottom pair.

Redshirt sophomore Jason Kasdorf made 36 saves as RPI played to a 3-3 tie with Clarkson. Kasdorf moves to 9-16-2 on the year. He has started 16 consecutive games in the Engineers' crease.

Cal Petersen stopped 33 of 35 shots as Notre Dame was beaten by Boston College 2-0. The loss drops Petersen to 9-13-3 with a 2.45 GAA and .919 save%. Connor Hurley (-1) contributed one shot on goal. He has one assist in his last 14 games.

Maxwell Willman provided one shot on goal as Brown skated to a 3-3 tie with Cornell. The freshman winger has one goal and two assists in his first 27 collegiate tilts.

Freshman winger Judd Peterson did not dress as St. Cloud State dropped a 3-2 decision to North Dakota.

In USHL action, Christopher Brown made his Tri-City debut with an assist and three shots as the Storm earned a 4-3 overtime victory over Sioux City. Brown was traded Monday from a struggling Green Bay squad to a Storm club set for a deep playoff run.

In the AHL, Jake McCabe notched a goal and an assist, and Mikhail Grigorenko earned a helper in his first game since January 30 as Rochester was defeated by Toronto 4-3 in overtime. Allan McPherson scored his first AHL goal for the Amerks, while Brayden Irwin added his 14th of the year. Matt Hackett stopped 23 of 27 shots to take the loss. Chad Ruhwedel assisted on two of the three Amerks tallies.

Int he ECHL, Colin Jacobs earned a fighting major just 2:03 into play as Elmira dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Wheeling. The scrap was Jacobs' fifth of the year. Kevin Sundher posted a minus-one rating while supplying a shootout marker for the Jackals.
