2/19 Recap: Goalies fall in OT; Malone marks

Let's take a quick cruise through Friday's action...

Jason Kasdorf stopped 37 shots as No. 17 RPI was defeated by No. 1 Quinnipiac 5-4 in overtime. Kasdorf has started 14 consecutive games for the Engineers, posting a 9-10-4 record with a 2.21 GAA and .934 save%.

Cal Petersen made 35 saves as No. 7 Notre Dame dropped a 3-2 overtime decision at No. 5 Providence. The loss drops Petersen 18-6-7 with a 2.09 GAA and .931 save%. Connor Hurley saw his three-game point streak snapped in the loss. Providence defender Anthony Florentino missed his second game in a row with an upper body injury.

Sean Malone potted his seventh goal of the season as No. 13 Harvard played to a 2-2 tie with No. 16 Cornell. Malone has goals in back-to-back games for the second time this season, boosting him to 13 points in 23 contests.

Will Borgen recorded one assist as No. 3 St. Cloud downed Nebraska-Omaha 4-1. Borgen has 11 helpers and a plus-15 rating in his first 27 collegiate tilts.  Judd Peterson produced two shots on goal in the victory. The sophomore forward has just one goal in his last 11 games.

Chris Brown submitted one shot on goal while being bumped up to top line duty as No. 2 Boston College extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 3-1 victory at Vermont. After 31 games, Brown has two goals and nine points.

Max Willman is done for the year with a broken hand, meaning he;ll end the season with a three-game point streak.

In Sweden, Jonas Johansson stopped 23 shots as Almtuna IS was bested by Tingsryds AIF 4-3 in a shootout. Johansson has won 22 of 39 starts for fifth-place AIS, racking up a 2.35 GAA and .915 save%.

In OHL action, Eric Cornel notched a pair of assists to extend his point streak to five games as Peterborough held on for a 6-4 win at Sudbury. Cornel has 25 goals and 70 points through 56 games, including points in 10 of his last 11 games.

In the WHL, Brendan Guhle earned one assist as Prince Albert fell to Moose Jaw 4-3 in overtime. Guhle has points in back-to-back games to push his total to 24 (9+15) through 50 appearances.

Brycen Martin was blanked in Everett's 2-0 shutout loss to Tri-City. Through 58 games, Martin has produced 34 points (6+28) and a plus-10 rating.

Devante Stephens finished with a plus-two rating as Kelowna outlasted Vancouver 6-5. The stay-at-home defender has amassed eight points (2+6) and a +10 rating in 59 outings.

In the AHL, Dan Catenacci scored his eighth goal of the year and Linus Ullmark made 43 saves as Rochsester got past Portland 2-1 in overtime. The marker gives Catenacci points in six consecutive AHL games. Jason Akeson scored the overtime winner 2:03 in off a pass from Cal O'Reilly.

On Wednesday, Vaclav Karabacek connected for a pair of power play goals as Moncton snapped a nine-game skid with a 4-2 doubling of Blainville-Boisbriand. Karabacek has struck for goals in three of his last four games. He has 23 points (13+10) in 35 games between Baie-Comeau and Moncton.
