Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have recalled forward Nathan Gerbe from Portland of the American Hockey League. Gerbe (7/24/1987, 5’6”, 173 lbs.) has 20 points (5+15) in 23 games with the Pirates this season. In 2008-09, Gerbe was named the AHL’s Rookie of the Year with 56 points (30+26) in 57 games. Gerbe was also recalled twice to Buffalo last season, and finished with one assist in 10 games.
