3/26 Recap: Armia assists not enough; Sutch bounced

Joel Armia posted two assists Monday as Assat was downed by JYP, 4-3. The points were Armia’s first of the series. Now facing a 3-0 series deficit, the Aces will try to stave off elimination on home ice in Wednesday’s game #4.

Gregg Sutch was ejected midway through the first period for a headbutt as Barrie pitched a 4-0 shutout of Mississauga. The gritty 6’2 forward clashed with ex-Majors teammate Stuart Percy, who he rocked in a tilt earlier in the year and tried to go another round with on Friday before Trevor Carrick stepped in to battle. Alex Lepkowski finished even for the Colts, who now take a 2-1 series lead heading into Tuesday’s game #4.

In the OHL, Dan Catenacci was -1 with a kneeing minor as Owen Sound was defeated by Kitchener, 4-1. The Attack have scored just five goals en route to collecting three straight losses. Blanked for a third straight game, the speedy pivot will need to step it up in Wednesday’s game four if the Attack are to live another day.
