11/7 Recap: Trio quiet as weekend approaches

Mikhail Grigorenko posted a minus-two rating Wednesday as Team Russia was defeated by Team QMJHL 5-2 in Game Two of the 2012 Subway Super Series. The Russian centerman was used in a lesser capacity as Russia began experimenting with different line combinations in preparation for the series' final four games. Jonathan Huberdeau (FLA) paced the QMJHL with two goals and an assist, while 2013 draft eligibles and Halifax Mooseheads teammates Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon each posted four-point nights (1+3). Grigorenko will return to Quebec City for the Remparts Friday game versus PEI.

In OHL play, Dan Catenacci was unable to score for the second straight game as Owen Sound was blanked by Guelph 3-0. The Attack return to action Friday at Brampton. Earlier this week, news broke that this season will be the Troops last in Brampton before a move to North Bay for the 2013-14 season.

In the WHL, Logan Nelson finished with a minus-three rating as Victoria dropped a 4-2 decision at Lethbridge. Nelson has now gone 11 straight games without a goal.
