3/14 Recap: Catenacci cashes pair; Jacobs' Cougars on brink

Dan Catenacci struck for two goals and an assist Thursday as Owen Sound blew out Windsor 6-0. The three-point night, Catenacci's fifth of the season, up his totals to 38 goals and 78 points entering the Attack's season-ending home-and-home series with Sarnia.

Alex Lepkowski finished plus-one as Barrie doubled Kingston 4-2. The Colts have won seven straight games but trail Belleville by two points for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with two games left to play.

Justin Kea went without a point as Saginaw edged Sarnia 3-2 in overtime. The Spirit close the regular season with Friday and Saturday tilts versus Kitchener and first-round opponent London.

In the WHL, Colin Jacobs scored his 25th goal of the year as Prince George was defeated by Kelowna 5-2. The loss hurts PG's chances of nabbing the final Western Conference playoff spot, as the Cougars will have to win both of their remaining games and hope that the Everett Silvertips lose all three of their final games in regulation time in order to qualify.

In Sweden, Linus Ullmark served as backup to Bernhard Starkbaum as MODO dropped a 5-3 decision to Farjestads to fall into a 2-0 series hole in the first round of the SEL playoffs. MODO will look to halve the deficit when the series resumes on Saturday.
