Baptiste connects as Wolves come up short

Nick Baptiste scored a power play goal and added two assists Monday as Sudbury lost to HPK 4-3 at the Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia.

Sudbury outshot the Finnish squad by a 33-20 margin, with all three of Baptiste’s points coming in the third period as the Wolves rallied to tie the game. The effort would fall short though, with HPK notching the game winner with just 45 seconds left in regulation. The defending champion Wolves, who dropped to 0-2 in round robin play, will look for their first win of the preseason Wednesday when they take on Swedish club Frolunda.
