Former Sabres prospect Vyacheslav Buravchikov, 26, has retired from professional hockey due to heart problems. Buravchikov, who captained Russian to a silver medal at the 2007 World Junior Championship, was a KHL mainstay on the Ak Bars Kazan blueline before playing the last three seasons with CSKA Moscow. The 26-year old finishes his KHL career with 29 points (14+15) and a minus-23 rating in 178 games. Buravchikov was originally selected by Buffalo in the sixth round of the 2006 draft (191st overall).
