10/21 Recap: Bailey extends streak with pretty helper

Justin Bailey picked up an assist Tuesday to extend his career-best point streak to nine games as Kitchener defeated Guelph 4-1. With Kitchener holding a 2-1 third-period lead, Bailey combined with Ryan MacInnis (ARZ) for a pretty give-and-go on the power play to give the Rangers a little breathing room. Fellow WNY product Frank Hora recorded the secondary assist on the play.

The backhand helper gives Bailey points in all nine appearances since returning from his second NHL training camp, leaving him with team highs of eight goals and 14 points heading into a three-game weekend beginning Friday's versus Owen Sound.

In the QMJHL, Vaclav Karabacek notched an assist to snap a three-game point drought as Gatineau was defeated by Rimouski 6-4. The Czech winger has nine points (3+6) through his first dozen games. Gatineau's Yakov Trenin ('15) posted a goal and two assists to hit the 20-point barrier in his 16th game. The Olympiques host Halifax on Friday.
