1/15 Recap: Kasdorf shuts door; Fasching keeps cashing

Jason Kasdorf stood on his head Friday, stopping all 44 shots sent his way for his second shutout of the season as No. 20 RPI blanked No. 8 Cornell 1-0. The sparkling performance advances Kasdorf to a 6-5-2 record with a 2.02 GAA and .937 save%.

Hudson Fasching went to the doorstep for his 12th and 13th goals of the year as Minnesota got past Michigan State 5-2. Fasching has back-to-back two-goal games to give him a team-leading 22 points through his first 20 games played.

Ivan Chukarov notched one assist and a team-high four shots on goal as Massachusetts lost to No. 11 UMass- Lowell 4-1. Chukarov has an assist in two straight games to give him four points (0+4) through 22 contests.

Cal Petersen made 24 saves before giving way to senior Nick Stasack in the final four minutes as No. 13 Notre Dame smoked Merrimack 7-2. Petersen is now unbeaten in his last nine starts. Connor Hurley finished plus-one with a shot on goal in the victory.

Judd Peterson (3 SOG) and Will Borgen (+1) each went without a point as No. 5 St. Cloud State edged No. 17 Minnesota-Duluth 3-1.

Sean Malone produced one shot on goal as No. 6 Harvard held on for a 3-2 win over St. Lawrence. Malone leads all Crimson forwards with a plus-nine rating.

Chris Brown recorded one shot on goal as No. 4 Boston College defeated crosstown rival No. 10 Boston University 5-3. The checking line center has gone without a point in his last eight games.

Max Willman logged a minus-one rating as Brown dropped a 3-2 decision at No. 12 Yale. The sophomore winger has one goals and four points in 16 games this season.

Anthony Florentino finished with an even rating as No. 3 Providence downed Vermont 3-1. The junior defender has four goals and seven points in 17 games.

QMJHL

Vaclav Karabacek scored one goal and one assist in his Moncton debut as the Wildcats skated to a 7-4 win over Quebec. Karabacek, who was playing his first games since December 5, has collected nine goals and 18 points in 24 games.

WHL

Giorgio Estephan recorded one assist to extend his point streak to 10 games as Lethbridge cruised past Kamloops 6-2. The helper puts Estephan at 54 points (23+32) through 44 games.

Brendan Guhle submitted a plus-one effort as Prince Albert doubled Kootenay 4-2. Guhle enters Saturday's showdown at Lethbridge with six goals, 17 points and a plus-three rating in 37 outings.

Devante Stephens logged a minus-three rating a Kelowna was bested by Victoria 4-3. Stephens has collected seven points (2+5) and plus-nine rating in 43 appearances with the Rockets.

Brycen Martin (+1) was unable to get on the scoresheet as Everett edged Vancouver 3-2. Through 42 games, Martin has four goals and 30 points.

AHL

Linus Ullmark stopped 21 of 25 shots as Rochester was defeated by Binghamton 4-0. The loss lowers Ullmark to 1-3 with a 3.05 GAA and .916 save% in four AHL starts this season.
