Poltapov, 97 in red, looked comfortable playing a simple game at the KHL level. He's engaged in the defensive zone, likes to get in on the forecheck, and knows he needs to be around the net.
It will be interesting to see how Poltapov gets deployed within the CSKA organization this season. They obviously think highly of him based on his appearance with the big club, but he may be better served spending the majority of his time at the VHL level, where he'd play a lot more minutes.

Either way, he's a likeable prospect that should one day add value to an NHL roster in multiple roles.
