Rosen finds the net in preseason opener

Isak Rosen got his SHL preseason going on a good note Friday, netting a goal and an assist as Leksand IF dropped a 6-5 shootout decision to Djurgarden.

Rosen opened scoring just 54 seconds into the game when he used his quick release to deposit a power-play shot from his usual spot in the right faceoff circle.

Later in the third period, Rosen was again a factor by notching a secondary helper on a Justin Kloos tally. Rosen, wearing 24 in white, backed into the slot off the draw and nearly connected off a nifty high tip of a point shot before working the left wall with an active stick to get an assist on the score sheet.

Those were some pretty nice hands there from New York Rangers defensive prospect Calle Sjalin to navigate and create the Kloos marker.

Elsewhere in Sweden, Linus Cronholm and Albert Lyckasen joined forces on a defensive pair as Linkoping continued their preseason slate with a 3-2 loss to IK Oskarshamn. Earlier in the week, Lyckasen was on LHC's third pair while Cronholm was on the extra fourth defensive unit. Oskarshamn newcomer Wiliam Worge Kreu received work on the third defensive pair.

William von Barnekow received a good look from the coaching staff as the second-line center as Malmo kicked off their preseason schedule with a 5-0 blanking of Timra,

In Thursday action, Miska Kukkonen played a healthy dose of minutes on the Lukko blueline in a 4-2 victory over Sport.
